The Nominating Process for 2007
The Quills/PW Selection Committee, including a distinguished panel of editors from Publishers Weekly, the publishing industry’s preeminent magazine, will review original books published in North America and marketed between July 1, 2006 and June 30, 2007. Eligible titles will have met at least one of the following criteria:

  • Starred review in Publishers Weekly
  • Position on the Publishers Weekly Bestseller List
  • Special Selection of the Committee

The Quills/PW Selection Committee will nominate 5 titles in each of the 19 categories. These finalists will be announced in early June 2007.

The Voting Board
The Quills Voting Board, comprised of over 6,000 invited booksellers and librarians, will vote for the 19 category winners between June 18, 2007 and August 31, 2007.

Consumer Voting
Following the announcement of this year’s winners on September 10, 2007, readers will get to cast their online votes for The Book of The Year from September 10 to October 10, 2007.  To cast your vote log on to www.quillsvote.com.

Winning authors in all of the categories, plus dozens of other bestselling authors, will be seen at the Awards Program to be televised by NBC-TV’s Universal Stations on Saturday, October 27, 2007.



Last Year's winners were announced at a Black Tie gala ceremony on October 10, 2006 in New York City.
